This hospital attracted a lot of attention from the exploration community and those who are less than desirable to society with extensive evidence of drug abuse happening inside the housing blocks and even the hospital itself.
Backing on to the current, new site of Derby’s hospital, this site had been derelict for 5 years before being demolished in 2015. It provided lots of exciting photos for me, mixing clinical with abandoned in a way that isn’t so common these days.
As this was reasonably close to home, there were many trips here over several months, being able to spend hours exploring the site, picturing what would have been happening in its former glory days was very satisfying. Expanding my exploration experience also led to some clothe-less photos too.
